The Cornish Pasty, What's Your Favourite?


There are plenty of pasties to get your hands on in Cornwall - and today we are asking you... where's your favourite to pick up this Cornish delight?

As you probably know, the pasty began over 300 years ago and gave Cornish miners an easy, filling and tasty meal during their hard day at work. It's a practical lunch, that we still adore to this day.

So, in no particular order - let the pasty wars begin!


Bill Rowe was the founder of Rowe’s Bakery and opened his first shop in 1949. Bill joined forces with his wife Phyllis and became the ultimate dream team - combining Bill’s love for baking with his wife’s natural flair for selling! It’s a proud family run business, the first shop opened in Falmouth and soon spread far and wide throughout Cornwall.

It's top quality pasty heaven, with brand new flavours to keep things fresh and exciting!

The Cornish Oven

The Cornish Oven has been baking for over a decade and you can find these tasty bites in West Cornwall. You will find delicious and fresh pasties as well as loads of other snacks and goodies, which are yours for the taking!

They also have a fantastic ‘Sandwhich Delivery Service’ which can come straight to your place of work.

Prima Bakeries

Prima Bakeries is based in the heart of Cornwall, offering delicious Cornish pasties, bread, yummy treats and have been doing so for more than thirty years! They pride themselves upon their high quality, fresh and flavoursome pasties. If you’re not in Cornwall – you can enjoy Prima pasties delivered straight to your door wherever you are in the UK.

Ann’s Pasties

The Ann pasty recipe has been passed down through generations. All lovingly made on The Lizard, Ann provides high quality pasties which can be bought in the shop or online!

Ann loves a good event such as a wedding, so if you’re after a proper Cornish wedding you know where to turn to!

Portreath Bakery

All of the baked goods at Portreath Bakery are made with local ingredients and made lovingly, with a bespoke service delivered straight to your door! This family run business has been around for 28 years, and have gained a following of loyal pasty eaters!

Their new store is in Pool, so go visit this huge bakery with a 100 seat restaurant!

Did you know - they are also the world’s first pasty company to have a drivethrough?


Philips states that they capture the taste of Cornwall – who agrees?

Philps is a family run business, with a passion for baking traditional pasties! These bakers are committed in providing high quality pasties, with prime beef, fresh veggies, local cheddar and the finest pasty ingredients. Philps also provides a bespoke service and cater for a whole range of events!

You can find them in Hayle, Marzion and Praze-an-Beeble.

Warren’s Bakery

A traditional bakery spreading the Cornish love with their 50 stores located in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. They've been serving since 1860 and are one of the oldest artisan bakers in the whole of the UK and continue to produce delicious pasties to us Cornish folk! Known for their high quality produce and friendly service, Warren’s is certainly a contender within the pasty realm.
