Royal Cornwall Museum

The Royal Cornwall Museum is definitely worth a visit in Truro. An established museum filled with discovery. They have been collecting for nearly 200 years, from prehistoric Cornwall to Ancient Egypt – you will find something amazing around every corner.

There’s plenty of interactive exhibitions to get stuck into, and tons of hands on fun for the whole family to enjoy.

The museum holds a huge collection of artefacts, meaning there will be so much to learn. Get up and close to an array of objects, including an amazing unwrapped mummy.

Royal Cornwall Museum welcomes schools, families and adults to join in with the fun and learn something new.

The museum holds many events throughout the year, and also provides lots of hands on family activities. Get involved in family trails, workshops and much more.

Children can visit for free and adults can pay £4.50 once, and get in free all year.

Hall For Cornwall

You can find Hall For Cornwall in the heart of Truro. Expect all sorts of shows, music and entertainment from rock to musicals.

It’s a hub for talent, and development. It’s an absolute favourite for families within Cornwall, with plenty of children’s entertainment supplied throughout the year.

Don’t miss out on shows such as Duchy Ballet’s Snow Queen and Peter Pan on Ice.

Truro Cathedral

Experience Truro's beautiful architecture as you come face to face with Truro Cathedral - anyone can visit for free!

Enter and be amazed by the surroundings, relax and unwind with a coffee in the café, buy a guidebook and learn about its rich history and if you'd like to, make a donation at the end of your visit.

Take a guided tour and learn about the history from an experienced and knowledgeable team member.

The cathedral has events all year round, from services to lectures – making it a dynamic location for the whole community.

Plaza Cinema

If you need to escape the rain, look no further than Plaza Cinema. With all the latest films, it could be a great activity for the family. Or a great way to end the day on a high, after a busy day of exploring, shopping and discovering this dynamic city.

This cinema has four screens, all providing state of the art sound and screen equipment. Don’t forget to stock up on goodies before you head in!

Shopping

Truro is Cornwall’s go to place for a spot of shopping. Walk the cobbled streets and browse a whole range of shops from independent retailers to national shops.

There’s loads of streets to explore, from Pydar Mews to Victoria Square. You’ll find original clothes, homeware, food and goodies every corner you turn.

Lemon Quay Market is also a lovely little area to discover, with independent shops and food to enjoy. Enjoy the many galleries and cafes right at your fingertips. Boscawen Park

Boscowen Park is a traditional park, filled with blooming flowers, winding paths and surrounded by beauty.

There’s many facilities available, from tennis courts, football pitches and a cricket pitch. So get your trainers on and go get active! They are available throughout the year, giving you the chance to get active in the heart of Truro.

It’s also a great place to take the kids, with a large play area for kids to have fun. They’ll find endless entertainment upon climbing frames, trails, swings and slides! Or running around on the lawns and rolling down hills!

The park can be a great way to relax after a packed day full of shopping. Bring the family for a relaxing stroll, and head on down towards the riverside walk and admire the Truro River.
