What’s On This Weekend In Cornwall


Cornwall has an exciting weekend ahead with a whole range of activities to get stuck into. Whether you fancy samba drumming, exploring local markets or watching a live show beside the sea - Cornwall has so much to offer this weekend.

Oliver! At The Minack Theatre

The famous 'Oliver' will be presented at the Minack Theatre over the weekend.

This magical outdoor theatre creates an idyllic spot perched high above the ocean to watch a family friendly show.

This is a great British musical by Lionel Bart, based on the novel written by Charles Dickens. The musical will run from the 4th of April until the 9th, entertaining you with a sensational performance.

It’s a perfect evening for the whole family to enjoy in this spectacular theatre, creating a body tingling experience you won’t forget.

Creation Fest At Eden

Creation Fest will be held at the Eden Project this weekend, filled with family fun and celebrations of music, Bible, creative teaching and lots of activities to keep everyone entertained.

The day will be jam packed full of great activities. Be ready for a day of fun from 10am with 'God & The Garden' where the Scripture will begin.

There will also be creative workshop running throughout the afternoon, offering art sessions and the chance to let your creativity run wild.

A mouth-watering hog roast is on offer at the weekend, so don’t forget to grab your tickets as you sign up for the event.

The day will draw to a close, with a closing worship celebration.

Charity Murder Mystery Night

‘Murder By Appointment’ will be kicking off this weekend, in support of Children’s Hospice South West at The Seahorse Club in Pentewan.

This production will be an evening filled with mystery and giggles as you raise money for this great cause.

There will be tasty treats to tuck into and also great music provided by DJ Richard Vale.

Electric Swing Circus

On Saturday expect an evening filled with music, as you dance the night away beside the sea.

Situated on the beautiful sandy beach of Perranporth, at The Watering Hole. Be surrounded by three miles of beautiful beach and towering dunes, creating a perfect place to spend your evening.

Listen to the amazing sounds, with combinations of vintage samples, electro beats, hypsy-jazz, electric double bass, keys, live drums and dirty synths.

Be blown away by the double act, singing a variety of vocal styles providing a night you won’t forget.

Samba Drumming Workshops

Callington are preparing for this year’s Mayfest with a whole range of workshops and activities to get involved in.

Head to the Mustard Seed Church for a chance to dive into the world of samba drumming. It will be an amazing experience as you discover the rhythms of Brazil through the inspiration of Rio’s spectacular carnival.

Sean Hooper from Truro School of Samba will be hosting the workshop. Bring the whole family along to get involved and feel the beat and have the chance to get creative.

Dates: Saturday 9th April – 10:30am – 12:30pm

Launceston Market In The Square

This Saturday Launceston will be holding a mixed market within the square.

Spend the day browsing stalls, in this beautiful setting. The stalls will be showcasing a whole range of goodies including locally produced food and drink. 

Don’t forget to check out the great range of art work and crafts on display, and if you fall in love with one – take it home to treasure!

If you can’t make it this Saturday, the market is held on the second Saturday of each month all year round.

Cornwall Baby Show

This Sunday head on down to Kingsley Village for Cornwall Baby Show.

It will be a wonderful day as you get to know national brands such as Kiddy, Jane, Out N About and Uppababy. There will also be a range of Cornish businesses sharing their products and services for you and your baby.

Not only will you be able to get your hands on new products, the midwives from Treliske – The Happy Birth Project will be around to answer any of your questions.

There will also be talks and demonstrations throughout the day, and a raffle being held to raise money for the Maternity Unit.

You can register for free and go home with a lovely goodie bag!

Flynqy Pilot Training Open Afternoon

Cornwall Newquay Airport are holding a Pilot Training Open Afternoon this weekend and you’re invited!

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to fly a plane or want a challenge – this could be an exciting day out.

This day will be filled with advice and free information provided by instructors and staff of Cornwall Newquay Airport.

You will be able to discover how to get started if you desire a career in flying, learn about the course syllabus and have a tour of the Aircraft and Air Traffic Control.

From banging a drum to learning how to fly – what will you choose to do this weekend?
