Memories of The Cornwall Coliseum

Cornwall Coliseum

Once a mecca for some of the world's most famous bands and artists - The Cornwall Coliseum at Carlyon Bay was a shadow of it's former-self.

After struggling to compete with increased competition from venues such as The Plymouth Pavilions, the venue finally closed completely in 2003.

The land was purchased by a developer, who planned to build apartments on the site. However, disputes over the plans meant that the work couldn't begin - and the venue which once played host to Paul McCartney, Thin Lizzy and many other big names was left in ruins.

Finally, in April 2015 the bulldozers moved in and demolished the building.

The home of many Cornish people's first gig experiences - The Cornwall Coliseum will hold a special place in many people's hearts.
